Sky Wars EXPO Center

On June 22nd, 2024 SARA held a free-to-enter Aerial Drone Competition at their booth at the SACHA expo. The Aerial Drone Competition is a Competition created by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (REC), an organization that hosts multinational competitions. Additionally SARA and the FTC teams Dynabytes, Incinerators, and The Howlers gave youth the ability to try driving FTC robots. In total, throughout the 6 hour event SARA gave about over 30 attendees the opportunity to challenge themselves in the Aerial Drone Competition, giving them a chance to enjoy STEM and possibly inspire them to begin participating in more STEM events. Those who participated learned teamwork, planning, and communication skills, and some even walked away with awards such as Highest Scoring Team and Overall Champion. By holding events like these SARA continues to build youth interest in STEM.

On May 17th, 2024, our team at SARA hosted the West Virginia Aerial Drone Competition. The event's purpose was to expand the robotics workspace and encourage collaboration and spread awareness for SARA. Over 50 teams attended with their own posters and booths, creating a vibrant, social atmosphere. The large amount of people present at the event created a friendly environment where each team used their collaboration skills and robotics talent to progress further into the competition. Our team at SARA used booths to promote our organization and spread awareness about robotics advancements. The event was a success, as the competition flowed smoothly, everyone had a fun time, and information was spread about STEM.
