New Jersey STEM Advocacy Conference

In June, SARA hosted a two‑day NJ STEM Advocacy Conference on June 15 and 16, bringing together students, educators, and community leaders to champion stronger, more equitable STEM opportunities across the state. The first day featured an engaging informational conference with multiple guest speakers, including STEM professionals, educators, and advocates who shared insights on expanding access, strengthening STEM pathways, and empowering youth voices in policy conversations. Participants had the chance to learn, ask questions, and connect with others committed to advancing STEM education in New Jersey.

On the second day, students traveled to the New Jersey State Capitol in Trenton to visit the offices of their legislators. There, they discussed the importance of STEM funding, inclusive programming, and hands‑on learning opportunities for underserved and underrepresented communities. These conversations allowed students to directly share their experiences and advocate for meaningful change, demonstrating the power of youth leadership in shaping the future of STEM education.

The NJ STEM Advocacy Conference reflects SARA’s commitment to elevating student voices, building community partnerships, and ensuring that every young person in New Jersey has access to high‑quality STEM opportunities.
